Pampered

I had a bit of a late night last night. When I got home from work we had tea (steak, chips & peas) then we settled down to watch the Wales v Scotland Under 20s match. Disappointly we lost 18 v 17 (not a good omen for tomorrow!!). Much wine was consumed and after Noel and Meurig finally crashed out and went to bed I stayed up talking online to my friend Maxine, catching up on all the gossip. When I finally checked the time it was 2am so I thought I had better get to bed.

Today I was up bright and early (well early anyway, I certainly didn't feel very bright) in order to get my cauldren of cawl bubbling away ready for tomorrow.

Today was our annual outing to the Celtic Haven Spa courtesy of work (they pay half the cost of a spa day which includes 3 mini treatments, lunch and use of the pool, sauna and jacuzzi). I arrived about 10.45 and had a quick dip in the pool before my first treatment at 11am. I started with a mini facial which included a shoulder massage, it was lovely and relaxing and a great way to start the day. Next I had a back massage which was pure heaven (that isn't me in the picture BTW in case you were wondering!!).

Finally I had a full body exfoliation which left my skin feeling silky smooth and me feeling even more relaxed. I was amazed that only 6 of us had taken up the offer of a pamper day but maybe the £40 we had to pay towards the cost was just too much for some people in these days of financial hardship. After I had finished all my treatments I chilled out in the relaxation lounge with some of the others and caught up on all the gossip from the General Office where I used to work. Lunch was at 1pm and I had a lovely penne pesto and chicken pasta which was more then I could manage.

Unfortuately after lunch I had to head home again as I needed to get some sleep before my night watch. I was home and in bed by 2.30pm and had no trouble getting to sleep as I was so chilled out, I just wish I could have stayed a bit longer and enjoyed the pool, sauna and jacuzzi... maybe next year!
